LUBRIKA 101 PUNCH AND DIE LUBRICANT

DESCRIPTION

LUBRIKA 101 is a very effective water-based punch and die lubricant especially formulated for hot forging ferrous metals on presses. It has been developed taking into consideration the main operational parameters encountered in the forging operations, especially those operations where the movement of the metal is very severe.

LUBRIKA 101 has been conceived to provide good performance even at temperatures above 400 grades centigrade. The graphite, its main active ingredient, has a very high carbon content, low ash, microscopic particle size and hexagonal and plain geometry thus permitting a very homogeneous film formation over dies and punches.

LUBRIKA 101 combines effective die filling as well as excellent wetting at various forging temperatures.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Upsetting of tubular products and hot forging of steel on mechanical and hydraulic presses.

METHOD OF USE

LUBRIKA 101 is concentrated and must be diluted with water prior to its application to the dies and punches. The dilution ratio (product:water) may vary from 1:7 to 1:14. Factors such as type of atomization nozzles, distance and time of application will influence the determination of the most suitable dilution ratio required. The correct dilution is made by adding water to the concentrate with moderate stirring.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Diluted LUBRIKA 101 must be applied to the dies and punches through spraying techniques using suitable lubrication equipments functioning in synchronism with the press.

PRECAUTIONS

Reseal LUBRIKA 101 containers tightly to prevent contamination. Avoid freezing.

See Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information on handling, precautions and first aid instructions.
